When the power Option is Hide

After shutting down the computer, after clicking on the power option in the Start menu, there are no options of Shut down, Restart, Sleep or Hibernate. What a danger! Then pressing the Win key + X, entering the user’s menu, saw the same status, showing only Sign Out option.

Why is it?

What to do

For Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 Professional versions:

Edit Group Policy Editor. For this, go to the Start menu and type Gpedit.msc. If you see Gpedit.msc’s Microsoft Common Console with Best Match, click on it and open it. Now click on the User Configuration button on the list of Local Group Policy Editor and click on Administrative Templates. Click Start Menu and Taskbar. Now on the right-hand list, find and close the access to the Shut Down, Restart, Sleep and Hibernate commands and double-click it. Click on the Apply button below to select the new window here. Now the power options will be added to the start menu if sign out or log off from the power options.

For other versions of Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10:

Run and go to Regedit and press Enter. Once the message comes from user account control, agree to press Yes button. Now open Registry Editor from HKEY_CURRENT_USER to Software from Microsoft to CurrentVersion from Policies and click on Policies- Open Explorer Path. If you can open the editor’s path correctly, you will see an entry named NoClose on the right side of Explorer. Open it with two clicks and enter the value data in the house, cut it down to 0 (zero) and press OK. Now, from the power options sign out or log off, the shutdown, restart, and other options will be added to all other power menus, including the Start menu.
